This flock of Starlings was making use of the backs of Konik Ponies - reminiscent of Oxpeckers on Water Buffalo - which some would argue are birds from the same family.

Nice trio of postings from Wicken Fen. They show how rich it is in biodiversity, from big to small. I find that it promises more then it delivers, but you are clearly more observant than I am and have the ability to capture the moments of delight that nature offers. It's a treat to see the lizards. What species are they? The konik ponies show just how much we have lost by not having many large mammals roaming wild in this country.
This blog is to provide me with a photographic record of each year - and I now hope to keep it going after a few false starts! Most days I'm out first thing with our remaining dog, so posting something quite frequently.
