Wind, rain and hail soon followed the juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker.......... It must be tough for juvenile birds trying to make sense of all the novel experiences they are encountering these days!

Looks like your own personal Springwatch there. Hail here too yesterday - a day of all weathers. I'd like to think the good spring weather has meant a successful breeding season for most birds.
This blog is to provide me with a photographic record of each year - and I now hope to keep it going after a few false starts! Most days I'm out first thing with our remaining dog, so posting something quite frequently.
