Lazy Otter

I had hoped to have done some more work on Snettisham images, but it hasn't worked out like that.   I was pleasantly surprised how much there was to photograph at the Lazy Otter this morning.   There were a lot of fishermen competing with Great Crested Grebes for the fish.   I don't know how long ago this young Grebe was fledged, but it must be late in their breeding season come early October.   The RSPB guide book suggests Great Crested Grebes have one brood between February - June!

An Egret landing on a bright reflection made for a more artistic image, followed by the parent Great Crested Grebe feeding its young on two different fish, neither of which I can identify.   The second and smaller one looks almost Eel like.

The two Mute Swans were the first of this year's young I had seen flying.   There was an adult Mute Swan in attendance, although not photographed.

There were about 50 Canadian Geese on a newly waterlogged stretch of land (south of The Great Ouse) and they flew across reflected light in something of a panic.
