Not having seen an Owl at the Lazy Otter before it was a special morning to watch and photograph a Short Eared Owl and then a Barn Owl. All very exciting.

Lemon Blossom
We've had a lemon tree for several years now and it continues to 'do the business'. How strange that a plant can carry fruit at the same time as setting flowers for the next crop! It is a very 'messy' plant so it's difficult to get attractive photographs. Shame the scent can't be detected from photographs. The first image shows the profusion of flowers with a lemon yet to reach maturity. The second one features part of a lemon (green still) above a flower and buds. During summer months the tree is out in the garden.
I also found there were two other plants in the house bearing white flowers - and I'm never averse to trying to photograph 'white'. The white Orchid flower is followed by white Alstroemeria (cut flowers).

Wicken Fen from Upware Marina end
It is always worth visiting Wicken Fen. The first image is monochrome although the colour version doesn't have that much more colour! It is a typical view of the Fens in the early morning with plenty of recession. At times the light was lovely when shining on flocks of birds in flight. The first were Canada Geese, then masses of Lapwing twinkling and darkening as they changed direction, then a closer view of Greylag Geese with very blurred trees in the background - pronounced differential focus. The Kestrel posed nicely but was still too far away and had a busy background. Just have to keep trying.............

Creative alongside the Original
I had just one image of the sun rising to post today as it was a difficult morning, so decided to double up the number of images by posting the same image after some 'filter' treatment. I'm hoping to photograph some Hares tomorrow so back to some greater sense of normality perhaps.

More Digital Art
This is likely to be the last Digital Art for the time being. I shall have to find some other things to post.......

Weasel at Research Park + 'Digital Art' again
It was a delight to see a Weasel before it saw me. It had seen the dogs but they hadn't seen it! It has been several days since I took a telephoto lens out with me but chose to today - and there was a Weasel, at a distance!
The Digital Art, as I call it, is from today's walk and shows how different an 'ordinary' image can look after some jiggery pockery. Oh, I am having fun! Perhaps I should have tinkered with a Weasel image. Perhaps I shall for tomorrow...........

Digital Art
Given that there isn't that much to photograph on dog walks these mornings, I've started playing around with some digital art - and enjoying myself! There are three images or so which will get posted one at a time. Alongside the digital art will be the original image - just to emphasise how different an image can become! I have been using filters in Photoshop CS5 and in particular Pixelate Mezzotint, Radial Blur, Distort Twirl. Perhaps I'll experiment with one more image before doing things I should be doing!

Creativity!
There are many other things I should be doing, but had some fun last evening playing with a range of filters on the same image and have now put some together - although one could hardly call them a set! The only common feature is the original image which is of the inside of Aya Sofia in Istanbul, Turkey. The photograph in the middle is the one most representative of the original. My favourite is the one on the left and was the original creation.

New Year's Day 2016
There weren't that many folk around this morning! Those that were about were active though. The morning light was lovely and I enjoyed playing around with differential focus. It wasn't until I got home and downloaded images that I noticed there are three duck in the fourth image.
Happy New Year.
