Horsey Gap VIII

Just a couple more images of the Grey Seals!

Horsey Gap VII

I'm hoping to go to a Snettisham Spectacular early tomorrow morning so the last post for Horsey Gap.  I enjoyed capturing different patterns created by the tide embrassing this pebble.

Horsey Gap VI

It was lovely to see Turnstones among the Grey Seals.

Horsey Gap IV

We were staggered to see a seal surmount a groin!   We watched the possible youngster swimming towards a group of seals which it wanted to join.   We were 'willing it' to swim out to sea and round the end of the groin.   However, it knew better and after a few attempts, it arrived safely!   What some physical strength and agility to achieve its objective.

Horsey Gap III

There wasn't anything aggressive about this behaviour - just stretching its jaws - more like laughter really!    It appeared not to be directed at another seal or at humans at this moment.   Sadly there were several folk who did unsettle the seals by being too close to them.

Horsey Gap II

Having worked on quite a number of images, I shall post more now.   This particular seal was photogenic to my eyes, and perhaps it was one of this year's pups.   I remember the Camera Club advising that it is worth capturing some sort of activity when photographing animals, but this seal spent quite a bit of time 'resting'.

Visit to Horsey Gap - Grey Seals

This year's pups are almost the size of their parents and spending time amongst the adults which are moulting - and not appreciating being disturbed by visitors.   Although I had been expecting to post just a single image each day, after a visit to a venue like Horsey Gap it's inviting pulling together some themes.   Perhaps just a theme a day!   Most of these images were taken of one group although along the extensive beaches at Horsey Gap and Winterton there were many groups with many seals.

A love of Hellebores!

I've been a sucker for Hellebores for a several years now.   A few of those in the garden - only one at a time so that I continue my practice of an image a day.   Hellebores are always a good colour to me.

Moody Sky

I went for a walk near the Research Park, hoping to see one hare or more - nothing.  Instead a brisk walk back to the car was indicated after seeing these clouds approaching!

Another strong association with Spring time

Reflection at Wicken Fen

Although taken on a different day and posted on a different day, at least it affords a posting a day!

Blue Tit on Amelanchier shrub

Two passions in one image on this occasion.   I am still capturing spring flowering shrubs in the garden but have opted to include a bird in the image too!

Weeping Pear

I lost too many trees and shrubs during the distressing climate challenges of 2022 (drought and cold) so bought some replacements and some new to me trees - this being one of them.

Crane at Wicken Fen

It was a long way away but this image was good enough to confirm yesterday there is/are Crane(s) at Wicken Fen and the image was taken from the Board Walk Hide.

Nothing Like Trying Again!

The blossoms in the garden this month have been drawing me outside to photograph them and rather than commit to several images most days, I'll see if I can post an image a day.
